Odd Weddings May Be Out

Back in the day it was not unusual for the occasional bride and groom to get married while sky diving or undersea. These days, marriage good luck has moved back to the more traditional symbols or bouquets and grooms cakes. While you can certainly be wacky if you want to, not everyone will find it cute or darling. Keep these facts in mind when planning your wedding ceremony:
- Just because an idea is novel, it may not create memorable value for your guests. Bringing snow into the desert for a winter wonderland around the dance floor, might seem like a good idea at the time. However, think about what can happen. Your guests can slip and fall. The snow might not arrive. It could start to melt. So keep these warnings in mind, before you go too far off the edge with crazy wedding ideas.
- Even if your idea does have some value for the wedding celebration, it may not be worth it. If you always wanted to ride into your wedding reception on an elephant, that’s fine. However if it costs five thousand dollars for that five minutes as you enter the reception hall, is that money well spent? Could you spend that money more wisely elsewhere in the reception? What happens if the elephant ruins your wedding gown.
- How many oddball things can you add to the wedding, before people start wondering if you are a little cracked in the head? While a little quirky might be cute (think bride and groom cookies), pink flamingos on the altar of the church may not get rave reviews.
If you stick with traditional decor and parts of your ceremony and reception, nobody will be surprised. Everyone will have a good time. It will be a great day. Best of all, when you look back on your wedding day, you will have thrilled everyone present with the classic and elegant of your wedding event.
